Steel Channels

Industrial Metal Supply carries A36 alloy steel channels, which are hot rolled by forcing steel through a high-pressure rolling machine, until the metal reaches its desired thickness. The A36 design also features inside radius corners, which help to improve structural integrity. Typically used for heavy-duty machinery, industrial projects, and transportation, A36 is easy to weld and bend compared to other alloys. Another factor is cost — hot rolled A36 steel channels are less expensive to produce than the cold drawn variety. Cold drawing takes up more time and labor — since workers need to depend on the material’s tensile strength when pulling it through dies — and hot rolled steel is still extremely strong. When it comes to price, weldability, and malleability, the A36 beams are leaders in their category.
